Max B Released From Prison After 16 Years

Harlem rapper Max B is officially home after serving 16 years of a 75-year sentence tied to a 2006 robbery that turned deadly.

As promised, the Wave God was released this week after first announcing last year that his freedom date was set for November 9, 2025. Max had been incarcerated since 2009 on conspiracy charges related to the botched robbery but saw his sentence significantly reduced after multiple appeals.

Fans and fellow artists have flooded social media celebrating his release, with many calling it a long-overdue moment for Harlem hip-hop.
