R.I.P. John Forté

Details about the cause of death and memorial plans have not been made public at press time. Forté rose to prominence in the ’90s through his work with the Fugees and later released solo projects while writing and producing for others. In the years that followed, he continued creating music and mentoring artists, remaining a respected voice across hip-hop and beyond.

A gifted writer and musician, Forté’s influence outlives him in the songs he shaped and the artists he inspired. Rest in power.
